The Spireites made the trip to The Hive, north London home of Barnet football club. 1st v 2nd in the National League. Both teams form on the run up to the game had been patchy.

Paul Cook went with 5 changes, with Bailey Clements, Mike Jones, Ash Palmer, Joe Quigley and Michael Jacobs coming in for Brandon Horton, Tyrone Williams, Will Grigg, Liam Mandeville and DJ Oldaker.

The match started at a fast pace with Barnet on the front foot, which saw Tyrer save from Brunt and a Pritchard header across goal, hitting the bar with Tyrer beaten.

Naylor then went close as the Spireites found their footing. 25 minutes in and the first real quality move saw Grimes chip the ball forward to Clements who, in one movement, brought the ball down for Jacobs to fire home. This put the Spireites on a 0-1 lead at the break.

The second half formed the same pattern as the first, with Barnet probing. Cropper shot over and Pritchard was involved again. The second goal came when Grimes once more chipped a ball forward and Naylor beat the offside trap and a strong run towards the by line, with a cross that found substitute Grigg.

Barnet probed, but the Spireite defence dealt comfortably with everything that needed to be done.

Subs: Grigg, Mandeville and Berry replaced Quigley, Jacobs and Dobra respectively.

Corner count: Barnet 5, Spireites 3.

Card count: Palmer saw yellow.

Full time: Barnet 0 Spireites 2 and officially 11 points will confirm the National League title for the Spireites.
